It’s a time to celebrate in GC – every single person involved with our school district! That includes students, staff, administration, and YOU as a community member!! The Kentucky Department of Education has highlighted GC in the Kentucky Innovation Guide, calling our district a, “state leader in rethinking how to prepare students for life after graduation.”
Pictured here is Superintendent Moresea, who is full of pride as she points credit to the entire Musketeer family. The guide mentions our community too, saying that, “One important aspect of Greenup’s approach that cannot be overstated is community engagement.”
Perhaps our favorite quote from the highlight describes our motivation, saying, "[Moresea] shares that everything innovative they’ve done in their district has been to give kids hope at a young age, especially as students get closer to graduation."
The guide goes on to describe how GC finds meaningful ways for students to become engaged, providing real-world opportunities to learn and practice skills. Students use math in electricity class, they use reading skills as they prepare for a drama performance, and they use science in their nursing classes. As you can imagine, the list goes on and on!
We are very honored that the work we're doing is being recognized outside of this community! Our students and the community we serve is our "why", and we are committed! Musketeer family... we are making a difference! #BelieveInGC
