EdRISING
Yesterday, our EdRising students had a wonderful time helping our WES friends in first-grade with their Room on the Broom re-telling activity today! Working together is always better! #BelieveinGC

WRITER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Brumfield shares that Maria Parsons is the hardest working writer in creative writing class. She is always thinking of new ideas to explore, stretch, and mold into her next piece. Maria's enthusiasm for writing motivates and inspires others as well.

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Carla Moore shares that Zach Moore helps her in the cafeteria every day (without being asked). He picks up all of the trash he sees in the cafeteria after eighth-grade lunch, be it on the tables or on the floor. Thank you for your diligence, Zach!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mr. Haywood shares that Mr. Bowling worked hard to complete the greenhouse and garden fencing for our agriculture programs. Mr. Haywood shares that Mr. Bowling brought in many of his own tools, along with his expert craftsmanship. Thank you, Mr. Bowling!

A GREENHOUSE and A GARDEN
On Friday, our greenhouse was finally built and the fencing was posted for our garden. Don’t underestimate us, and don’t look away! Big things are happening at WMS! #BelieveinGC

ON WEDNESDAYS, WE WEAR PINK
Join us in wearing pink each Wednesday throughout the month of October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness, honoring each woman who has fought this battle and raising awareness together. #BelieveinGC

In connection with Hocus Pocus Day, students in the reading classes of Ms. Norris worked hard on their digital Tell-Tale Heart escape room.

Students in the classes of Mr. Haywood used spooky ingredients to make a potion that filled the entire container’s volume while using the least amount of ingredients. Each group used several experiments to determine the best method. Many resulted in overflowing cauldrons.

HOCUS POCUS DAY
We have had the most magical day at Wurtland Middle School! We owe a special note of thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this day special for our students!

MAGICAL ALGORITHMS
In connection with Hocus Pocus Day, students in the classes of Mrs. Miruka Williams are working on algorithms and following a specific algorithm to construct “Hocus Pocus” cookies.

WILDCAT OF THE WEEK
Mr. Bowling shares that Thomas has been working hard in Industrial Arts. Not only has he shown that he has some great construction skills, but he is always willing to help other students learn how to use tools to construct projects. Great job, Thomas!

COLLEAGUE CREDIT
Mrs. Amity Perry shares that Stefanie Tucker goes above and beyond to make sure her students are learning every day that they step into her classroom. She greets them with encouragement and focuses on making sure that each is equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

INDUSTRIAL ARTS
If you notice that the Wurtland Elementary School Warrior Café has a fancy new coffee stand, it’s definitely the one that our industrial arts students constructed and delivered to the staff members on Friday. We’re proud of their work!

DROP IN FOR A DOG
Dinner is on us! Join us for Open House on Monday, October 17, between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. We'll treat you to a hot dog as we celebrate our students! #BelieveinGC
